Stanley SIGINT Facility
The signals intelligence intercept facility in beautiful Shek O in Hong Kong.
The Chung Hom Kok Station (Stanley Fort Satellite Station), also known as "Project Kittiwake," was one of the facilities set up by the UK's Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) in 1947 to eavesdrop on China from a series of bases in Hong Kong. Others are located in Siu Sai Wan, which employed 140 Australian technicians, another at Tai Mo Shan, in the New Territories. (Source: Roger Faligot, "Secret history of Chinese Spies").
The Chung Hom Kok Station was managed by Britain's Royal Air Force and Australia's Defence Signals Directorate (DSD).
