Tactical Unattended Ground Sensor

Company situational training exercises at White Sands Missile Range, NM are providing AETF (Army’s Evaluation Task Force) Soldiers the experience they need to prepare for the upcoming Force Development Testing & Evaluation (FDT&E). Here a Soldier is setting up a Tactical Unattended Ground Sensor (T-UGS) to monitor the area they have just cleared.

Class I UAV Block 0

Soldiers from the Army’s Evaluation Task Force (AETF) have been training and testing equipment and capabilities that will be included in the Early Infantry Brigade Combat Team (EIBCT) Capability Package. The Class I UAV Block 0 is included in this capability set. A Soldier readies the Class I UAV Block 0 for flight during the recent CCD experiment.

Monitoring at the Tactical Operations Center

Soldiers monitor input from the Tactical Operations Center (TOC) at Early Infantry Brigade Combat Team (E-IBCT) Limited User Test (LUT) at White Sands Missile Range, NM. The LUT included Small Unmanned Ground Vehicle (SUGV), Class I Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), Network Integration Kit (NIK), and Tactical and Urban Unattended Ground Sensors (T and U-UGS).

Limited User Test for SUGV

AETF Soldiers developed a MOLLE back pack frame into an better way to transport the Small Unmanned Ground Vehicle (SUGV) while not in use.

Small Unmanned Ground Vehicle

A Soldier uses the Small Unmanned Ground Vehicle (SUGV) for a reconnaissance mission during a company situation training exercise at White Sands Missile Range, NM. The SUGV aids in the performance of urban Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions, chemical/Toxic Industrial Chemicals (TIC) and Toxic Industrial Materials (TIM) reconnaissance and inspecting suspected booby traps and improvised explosive devices without exposing Soldiers to these hazards.
