Note the use of a DEC PDP Minicomputer with ASR 33 Teletype. Programs were run off DEC tapes which were loaded onto DEC tape drives. Middle center of the picture. There are two of them visable. The DEC tapes were stored in four rows above the tape drives.

This was a method of storing data, program source/program binaries. When generated from a high speed punch the fan fold type paper was used. When generated by a model 33 or 35 Teletype a yellow roll type of paper was used which contained a lite oil which was not siutable for high speed paper tape readers. Either version of tape could be read by Teletype machines.
