Helicopter Shark is a composition of two photographs that gives the impression that a Great white shark is leaping out of the water attacking military personnel climbing a suspended ladder attached to a special forces UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter. The photo was widely circulated via email in 2001, along with a claim that it had been chosen as “National Geographic Photo of the Year”. The final edited photo was created by combining a photograph of a HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter taken by Lance Cheung for United States Air Force (USAF), and a photo taken by South African photographer Charles Maxwell. While the helicopter photo was in fact taken in front of the Golden Gate Bridge, the photo of the shark was actually taken in False Bay, South Africa. There are no known sightings of Great White sharks in San Francisco Bay.

Alle wollen dabei sein: bei der Präsentation von Hitlers geheimen Tagebüchern durch den Tagebuchbeschaffer Gerd Heidemann, die Chefredakteure Peter Koch und Felix Schmidt und den britischen Historiker Hugh Trevor-Roper. "Die Geschichte des Dritten Reiches", so titelt die Sensations-Ausgabe des Stern, muss "umgeschrieben werden". Doch das Materialprüfungsamt findet im Auftrag des Bundesarchivs in Labortests heraus: Die Tagebücher sind gefälscht. Der größte journalistische Coup der Nachkriegszeit wird zur größten Pleite. Der Stern erleidet einen riesigen Image-Verlust. Fälscher Kujau und Beschaffer Heidemann müssen für über vier Jahre ins Gefängnis. Der Journalist Heidemann lebt heute als Sozialhilfe-Empfänger in Hamburg.

Roomba Long Exposure
45 minute exposure of my Roomba cleaning a room. This was my 4th attempt, I repeatedly had the f-stop too low and the resulting noise was too great. The silly bit is that since my floor was very clean after the previous 3 attempts I had to sprinkle dirt in spots to get the blue circles that come from the Roomba spot cleaning.
