Laut einer aktuellen Erhebung von comScore ist das System bei den Deutschen Smartphone-Nutzern beliebt. 18,6 Prozent von ihnen scannen mit ihren Geräten QR-Codes. Die große Mehrheit der gescannten Codes führen deutsche Nutzer zu Produktinformationen. Ebenfalls häufig verbergen sich Veranstaltungshinweise hinter den viereckigen Code-Sequenzen.
