T-Hawk Micro Air Vehicle Part of the Talisman Suite of Vehicles

Talon is a remote controlled robot and part of the new Talisman suite of vehicles to counter the threat of Improvised Explosive Devices in Afghanistan.Talisman is the latest weapon to help counter the threat posed by Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and mines.The suite of vehicles to be operated by the Royal Engineers clears routes of IEDs and mines. It was bought as an Urgent Operational Requirement (UOR) worth more than £180M.Each Talisman system consists of:•A Mastiff Protected Patrol Vehicle•A Buffalo Mine Protected Vehicle with a rummaging arm•A JCB High Mobility Engineer Excavator•A T-Hawk Micro Air Vehicle•Talon tracked Remote Control Vehicle

Dragon Runner Bomb Disposal Robot

A Dragon Runner Bomb Disposal Robot at a Counter IED (CIED) facility demonstration at RAF Wittering.As part of the C-IED Task Force, members of 5131 (BD) Squadron demonstrated their skills in dealing with IED's (Improvised Explosive Devices), the likes of which they expect to see in future deployments to Afghanistan. One of the many tools that they will use is the Dragon Runner Bomb Disposal Robot.
