Stereoscopic Ant
Sometimes I love being a scientist. Last week we were teaching some Japanese kids about nanotechnology and the tools of nanotechnology. We got them to bring in some 'samples' to look at under our special 'environmental scanning electron microscope'. By taking one image, tilting the sample very slighty and taking a second image, a steroscopic, 3D compound image can be made. It really is worth getting hold of some 3D glasses for this. It rocks. Athough annoyingly, the 3D effect is slightly better when it's viewed sideways....
